Mr Lindsay Muir was a consultant hand surgeon at Salford Royal in the UK. He had a tertiary referral practice in systemic sclerosis. He has published on a wide range of topics.
Mr Muir has been examiner for the EBHS diploma since 2004. He was appointed chairman of the FESSH Examination Committee in 2023 and his term will conclude in 2028.
Mr Muir has been passionate about training since his early days. His training activities have included director of the basic surgical training rotation, Royal College of Surgeons tutor, tutor and examiner for the British Hand Diploma, Chaiman of the Instructional Courses in Hand Surgery, founder of the exam orientation course and co founder (with Mr Naqui) of the cadaver course. He was Council member for the BSSH for three years.
As FESSH Examination Committee chairman Mr Muir’s priorities have been to maximise the professionalism of the EBHS Exam, develop examiner training and introduce external scrutiny.
