Scientific background of the presenters:

Carla Nunes (EBHS): Consultant in Orthopaedics and Traumatology. Carla Nunes was Coordinator of the Hand and Wrist Study Group of the Portuguese Orthopaedic Society (SPOT), and is currently Secretary General of the Portuguese Hand Society (SPOCMA). She is Lecturer at the Católica Medical School in Lisbon and is actively involved in surgical education. She undertook training in Portugal and internationally in Oswestry (UK). She works as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Hospital CUF Tejo in Lisbon, where she heads the Wrist and Hand Unit. Her specialist interests include ultrasound-guided surgery and arthroscopy.

Pedro Negrao is the current president of SPOCMA. He works as the coordinator of the Wrist and Hand Pathology Unit, Orthopedics Service H. Cuf Porto He was guest assistance professor 2018-2022 at the Faculty of Medicine of Porto. Author or co-author of several publications in national and international journals, made several presentations in national and international courses and congresses. He is part of the organising team of the SPOCMA congresses and courses since 2013.

José Alexandre Marques is Consultant in Orthopedics and Traumatology in Coimbra University Hospital, where he works as Surgeon in Hand and Microsurgery department. Attended visiting fellowships: Institut de la Main – Paris, Dr. Piñal and Ass. – Santander/Spain, Hospital MAZ – Zaragoza/Spain. Current Vice-President of Portuguese Hand Society (SPOCMA), Portuguese Delegate of IFSSH. Founder of Clínica da Mão in Portugal. Post-graduated in Regenerative Medicine in musculoskeletal system. Special interests in: Arthroscopy, Spastic Surgery, Hand Reconstruction, Nerve surgery, ultrasound procedures-surgery, minimally invasive surgery and Orthobiologics.
