Report on the 8th Academy Foundation Course in Hand Surgery
FESSH hosted the 8th Academy Foundation Course in hand surgery at the Mercure Hotel in Poznan from February 26 to March 1, 2025. The course was co-chaired by Piotr Czarnecki, Elisabeth Haas, and Jonathan Hobby. We were honored to have a superb international faculty from 10 FESSH societies, including many old friends and ten new faculty members.
With 114 delegates from 30 countries, the four-day meeting was a great success. As usual, the program included a mix of lectures, practical exercises, plenary sessions, and small group discussions. The practical exercises were expertly supported by our industry partners.
New features this year included practical sessions on ultrasound, wrist examination, and tendon and nerve repair using the UpSurgeon model finger. These additions received enthusiastic feedback from the participants and will be incorporated into future events.
Additionally, there was a lively social program organized by Piotr, which encouraged networking and discussions between the faculty and delegates. As always, the feedback from both faculty and delegates has been brilliant.
We are already looking forward to next year's course, which will be held in Prague next February 2026.
Do not miss the opportunity and register now.
